Capital Campaign

Join us as we embark on a journey to renovate our beloved West Village Theater.

If you would like to make a contribution to the Capital Campaign, please reach out to Maegan Morris at mmorris@rattlestick.org.

I am so inspired by the work Rattlestick has done to center access in our renovation. In all aspects of the design, we have examined how our company can better host our community of audiences and artists. It’s one of the reasons I am proud to helm this organization. Rattlestick has a nearly 30-year track record of creating ambitious, singular new works guided by the principles of community, equity, empowerment, and artistic freedom. The renovation turns those values into a reality. My vision for the space and for the artistic future of Rattlestick go hand in hand. The renovation will make it possible for us to offer a responsive, flexible performance space that can transform for each show, and to host more community events and celebrations. It will strengthen our role as a civic space in the West Village and our ability to support new work that illuminates the future of our form. I cannot wait to welcome you to our new theater.
— Will Davis, Artistic Director

Project Overview

First built in 1854 and occupied by Rattlestick since 1999, Rattlestick’s home at 224 Waverly serves as both an artistic hub for the creation of daring new theater works and a gathering place where communities encounter new art and engage in complex conversations around urgent social issues. From our beloved theater, Rattlestick has helped launch the careers of hundreds of artists and produced over 125 new plays in pursuit of our mission to produce ambitious plays that inspire empathy and provoke conversation that will lead to positive social change.

The Artistic Home Campaign is designed to renovate, restore, and enhance accessibility at our theater. This investment in our artists and our community will create a more welcoming space to gather, converse, and experience work that is brave, challenging, and memorable.
