Rattlestick Playwrights Theater (David Van Asselt, Artistic Director, Sandra Coudert, Managing Director, and Lou Moreno, Associate Artistic Director) concludes its 13th anniversary season with the World Premiere of Steve & Idi, a new comedy by David Grimm directed by Eleanor Holdridge, which is now in previews and will have a limited run through May 24.
In Steve & Idi, Grimm’s latest work, Steve’s life is spinning out of control. His work is going nowhere, his lover dumps him, his friendships are strained and, as if that’s not enough, the ghost of General Idi Amin, the Ugandan dictator, bursts through his window with a very strange demand. Steve & Idi was developed at the Sundance Theatre Lab and is the first play from Rattlestick’s "DirtyWorks" reading series to have a full production.
The cast includes: Michael Busillo (Henry & Mudge, Texas Homos), David Grimm (Rattlestick acting debut), Greg Keller (The Seagull, Uncle Vanya), Zachary Knower (Pericles, A Man’s a Man) and Evan Parke (The Lion King, "King Kong"). The creative team is comprised of Kris Stone (sets), Jessica Ford (costumes), Les Dickert (lights), Scott Killian (sound) and Michael Rossi (Fight Choreograher). Emily M. Arnold (Stage Manager), Jacqueline Prats (Assistant Stage Manager), Kathryn Pierroz (Production Manager), Brian Smallwood (Techinical Director), The Lighting Syndicate (Master Electrician), and O&M Co (Publicity).
